Summary:

CPS Unit No. 115, subunit [36], located at the Memorial Hospital for the Treatment of Cancer and Allied Diseases in New York, New York, experimented with the effect of testosterone on a normal human being on cancer growth.

 

Dr. Fred W. Stewart and Dr. C.P. Rhoads directed an OSG experiment testing the metabolic effect of testosterone on a normal human being in relation to cancer growth.  Sponsored by Memorial Hospital for the Treatment of Cancer and Allied Diseases in New York City, one man was required for the study which ran from September 1943 through November 1944.  Eugene Emerson Collier served as the volunteer.  All experiments were done under the supervision of Dr. Jules Abels.
